WINNEMUCCA - The Frugal Flamingo Thrift Shop is helping area families gear up for the coming school year.

On Tuesday, July 23, the second-hand store will debut a "Back to School" room at its 720 E. Fourth St. location.

According to Humboldt Volunteer Hospice Executive Director Sherry Smith, the room will have school supplies, backpacks, lunch boxes, name brand clothing - everything parents will need to get a jump start on their back-to-school shopping.

"We've been planning and saving and storing in order to do this special room" said Smith, "and we know it's going to be a huge cost and time savings for area moms and dads."

She added, "We hope everyone will come check it out along with our other great merchandise."

All profits from the Frugal Flamingo support the Humboldt Volunteer Hospice in its mission to honor and support individuals in the Humboldt County community who are suffering from a chronic, debilitating or terminal illness.

All hospice care is provided at no cost to patients. Families do not need a doctor's referral in order to access hospice services.

The Frugal Flamingo Thrift Store is located at 720 E. Fourth St. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

Donations are gladly accepted during the store's hours of operation.
