St. John Bosco's First Fish Fry
St. John Bosco's First Fish Fry will be held on Friday, April 11 at 6 p.m. in the St. John Bosco Catholic Church Hall. The menu will include fish, baked potato, coleslaw, bread, dessert, punch and coffee. The cost is $12 for adults and $8 for kids under 10. Wine and water can be purchased at the dinner. Take-out is available. Tickets can be purchased by calling Laurie Pluemer at 635-0614, Brenda DeGonia at 775-455-7116 or the church office at 635-2576. Tickets are limited, so get yours early!
Free parenting classes

Foster/Adoptive Parent Training
Training is going to be at the Great Basin College 1500 College Parkway EIT Bldg. Room 208 in Elko, NV. First Baptist Church offers Services
The First Baptist Church would like to announce services and reach out to families and the youth of our community. Sunday services began at 10:45 a.m. and Sunday school begins at 9:30 a.m. Sunday evening services at 6:30 p.m. and Thursday prayer meeting at 7 p.m. Youth group will be held on Friday's from 6 -9 p.m. All are welcome! Hunter Education classes to be offered
A Hunter Safety Education class will be conducted this spring in Battle Mountain. It will be conducted on Monday and Tuesday evenings, March 24 and 25 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. All classes will be at the Civic Center in Battle Mountain. Cost of the class is $5 and is due at the door. A self-study work book must be completed prior to the beginning of class and is available at the Cooperative Extension Office at 815 North 2nd street (635-5565). Anyone born after Jan. 1, 1960 is required to provide proof of Hunter Education, in order to purchase a Nevada hunting license. You must pre-register by calling (775) 635-5565 or going on-line to http://ndow.org/ and following the hunter education links to Lander County.
March school board meeting
Instead of holding the meetings on March 12 and 26, the Lander County School Board will only hold one March meeting on March 19 at 6:30 p.m. at the Administrative Building.
A Knight's Tribute Memorial Scholarship
A scholarship in memory of beloved teacher and coach Tim Knight is being offered to Battle Mountain High School seniors. The common scholarship application, available from the BMHS Career Center, will be used. Criteria for the scholarship includes financial need, 3.0 GPA, participation in athletics and an essay addressing Coach Knight's contributions to BMHS or recounting a memory of Coach Knight.
Donations to the Knight's Tribute Scholarship Fund are welcome. Please, make your check payable to A Knight's Tribute Scholarship and mail to P. O. Box 1162, Battle Mountain, NV 89820.

Lander County Conservation District Volunteers needed
The Lander County Conservation District has an empty board supervisor position. The position is volunteer. The board meets approximately quarterly (every 3 months) to discuss possible conservation projects in our County. The Gospel Project Bible study
The Fellowship Baptist Mission began a new Bible study last month and will continue every Sunday at 9:45 a.m. The Gospel Project is a three-year study from Genesis through Revelation.
