Republican meet and greet

BMHS community dodgeball tournament
The BMHS Student Council is sponsoring a dodgeball Tournament on Wednesday, Jan. 29, and is open to the general public. You may sign up at the high school gym on the evening of the event at 6 p.m. Teams must consist of six to 10 players and the cost is $2 per player. The tournament is single elimination and the winning team will be awarded $50. Spectators are encouraged to come to the event and the cost is $1 to come and watch and cheer on your team. Christ Lutheran Preschool drawing tickets available
Tickets for Christ Lutheran Preschool's 11th annual February Family Fun Festival Drawing to be held Feb. 20, 2014 are now available for purchase. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. Tickets may be purchased from preschool staff and parents of preschoolers. Tickets are also available at the office of Christ Lutheran Church and Preschool located at 55 Bastian Street (across from the BLM). It is not necessary to be present during the drawing to win a prize. The grand prize is a 2006 Ford Explorer donated by Newmont. Assorted items, gift baskets and gift certificates are among the 100 prizes donated by the community for the drawing. Proceeds of the ticket sales will go toward preschool operating costs and the tuition assistance fund for the 2014-2015 school year. Thirteen students (25 percent of the enrollment) are benefitting from tuition assistance grants during the current school year. The school officials' fundraising goal is $12,000 in ticket sales.

Lander County Conservation District Volunteers needed
The Lander County Conservation District has an empty board supervisor position. The position is volunteer. The board meets approximately quarterly (every 3 months) to discuss possible conservation projects in our County. First Baptist Church offers Services
The First Baptist Church would like to announce services and reach out to families and the youth of our community. Sunday services began at 10:45 a.m. and Sunday school begins at 9:30 a.m. Youth group will be held from 6 - 9 p.m. All are welcome! First Baptist Church is located on the corner of 7th and Weaver. The Gospel Project Bible study
The Fellowship Baptist Mission began a new Bible study last month and will continue every Sunday at 9:45 a.m. The Gospel Project is a three-year study from Genesis through Revelation. The study teaches how the Gospel is reflected throughout the whole Bible. There are classes for all ages, from birth to adult. For more information, contact Bob at (775) 635-3470.
