10:30 a.m. - Representatives from EMS Rescue will be a the Winnemucca Senior Center, 1480 Lay St., to perform free blood pressure checks.

Rummage Sale to benefit GV VFD
8 a.m. - 3 p.m. - The Grass Valley Community Center will hold a rummage sale to benefit the GV Volunteer Fire Department. Have something to donate? Drop off days are Aug. 17, 19, 20 and 22 from 2 - 4 p.m. Individual spaces available for private sales at $10 each. Pool hours changing
Sage Heights pool will close for the season beginning Saturday, Aug. 24. New fall/winter hours will take effect Monday, Aug. 26 at Memorial Pool. Call 623-4362 or 623-6325 for additional information.

Fall/Winter hours for Bode Howard Memorial Pool take effect Monday, Aug. 28. Monday, Wednesday and Friday: lap swim from 5:30 - 7 a.m.; Aquacize 8 - 9 a.m.; lap swim noon - 1 p.m.; lap swim 5 - 6 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday: lap swim 5:30 - 7 a.m.; lap swim noon - 1 p.m.; public swim 5 - 7 p.m.; Saturdays: public swim noon - 3 p.m.; closed Sundays.
Humboldt County School District will be conducting a Child Find screening on Wednesday, Aug. 28. Children ages 3 - 5 who are not yet in Kindergarten are eligible to attend. If you suspect your child of having delays in speech, language, cognitive or social skills you are encouraged to call the Special Programs Department at 623-8128 to make an appointment.
