EMS Open House

11 a.m. - 2 p.m. - Humboldt General Hospital's Emergency Medical Services Rescue department invites all area residents to an EMS Open House at the ambulance station located adjacent to Humboldt General Hospital. The community will be treated to free goodies, tours of the ambulance station and vehicles, blood pressure checks, training in compression only CPR, bicycle helmet fittings and a bicycle safety course, weather permitting. A Family History Fair

9 a.m. to 3 p.m. - All residents in the Humboldt, Lander and Pershing county communities are invited to FamilyConnect, Winnemucca's first annual family history fair. Whether you are an avid genealogist, you are just getting started, or you simply want to discover the latest technologies and solutions to better connect with your family, FamilyConnect will have something for you. You will learn things such as how and where to start with your family history, how to organize your information, how to tell your own story, or even how to use the latest technology to solve real research problems. The day will include class sessions, one-on-one counseling and fair exhibits. Open to everyone ages 12 and up. Sign up at or pre-register at 8:30 a.m. the day of the fair. Fallon Naval Sea Cadets

Fallon Naval Sea Cadets is a non- profit youth program designed to educate youth from ages 11-17 about the Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard. Education includes military bearing, marching, physical training, courtesy, responsibility, and much more. Many opportunities are available for advanced training. Meetings are one weekend a month at the Naval Air Station in Fallon. Volunteers, both ex-military and civilian are needed for instructors and chaperones. Free resistance exercise class

Each Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 10 a.m. a resistance exercise class is held at the Humboldt County Senior Center.
