The Flying Saucer Trap Club will be holding its annual "Turkey Shoot" on Saturday, November 23rd at the trapshooting range located at 1550 Airport Rd. Lovelock, NV. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. and the shoot will start at 10:00 a.m.
Everyone is invited, shooting squads will be selected according to shooter's experience or bring your own squad of five shooters for some fun competition between friends. Bring your old hunting shotgun (12ga. 20ga. or .410) for some extra fun shooting. Twelve gauge shells are available for purchase at the Club. Food and refreshments will also be available. So come early, and stay late and win a turkey for your holiday feast.

4-H Candy Club
The 4-H Candy Club will meet Tuesday December 3 through Friday 6 after school at 3:30 pm at the Community Center kitchen. Members will learn cooking basics, complete a project report and make a variety of candy including popcorn balls, variety of fudge, stained glass, snowball and more. There is no cost for this project with the members taking samples home. Candy made will be sold at the 4-H booth at the Christmas Craft Fair December 7. The 35 Annual Community Christmas Fair is Saturday, December 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Pershing County Community Center. 820 6th Street. Sponsored by Friends of the Library.
Imlay Christmas Light Contest
Imlay Christmas Light Contest - Decorate your house and enter the contest. Open to residents in Imlay, Mill City, Buena Vista Valley and Unionville. Enter by Dec. 9, judging will take place Dec. 10. First place - $100, Second place - 15 bags of pellets for pellet stove, Third place - dinner for two at Star Point Trading Post. Food For Fines
Pershing County Library is accepting food for fines during November and December. Bring in any non-perishable food items to pay your overdue fines. No expired food please.
Angel Tree applications
Angel Tree applications are available now at Lovelock City Hall, Lovelock Police Department, Nevada State Bank and Wells Fargo Bank. Applications need to be completed by Dec. 6. No late applications will be accepted. Call 273-2256 or 273-2356 for more information.
Pershing County Resource Center
The Pershing County Business Resource Center is now open. It is located at the Pershing County Community Center, Star Room, 820 6thStreet, Lovelock, NV 89419. The center has 4 computers for free use by persons ages 17 and older for business, job, and educational purposes. The Star Room is also used as a classroom, so a calendar of availability can be found at www.pershingcounty.net. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday - Friday. Call 273-7144 for more information.

PGH needs volunteers
The Pershing General Hospital Nursing Home is in need of volunteers to spend time with nursing home residents, one on one visits and group activities. We also need donations of dollar store items for our Bingo Store. They win gold coins during bingo and bi monthly we set up a bingo store in the facility and let them shop. Pershing County Library
The Pershing County Library is open Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Wednesday from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.; Thursday from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Story hour Tuesdays with preschoolers (older than 3) from 10 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. The library is located at 1125 Central Ave. For more information call 273-2216.

Church of the Good Shepherd Food Bank
The Church of the Good Shepherd Food Bank currently has donated food available for those in need. Pastor D.W. Hutson asks that you call ahead to pick up the items from the church, located at 16500 state Route 400 in Unionville. The church accepts food and clothing donations to give away to those in need. Sunday services at 11:30 a.m. No charge for wedding services or funeral services regardless of membership. For more information call (775) 538-7570.
Daily Mass at St. John the Baptist Church
Daily masses are held at St. John the Baptist Church on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in the Father Vieages Room in the Annex.
Pershing County Water Conservation District
Meetings are held the fifth day of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the Water Conservation District Office. Call 273-2387.
Fallon Naval Sea Cadets
Fallon Naval Sea Cadets is a non-profit youth program designed to educate youth from ages 11-17 about the Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard. Education includes military bearing, marching, physical training, courtesy, responsibility and much more. Many opportunities are available for advanced training. Imlay Good Neighbor Nominations
The Imlay Auxiliary is now accepting nominations for the Good Neighbor awards. Have you been the recipient of a good deed or have you seen someone showing random acts of kindness? Nominate them for a Good Neighbor award. Awards will be presented at the Imlay Service Appreciation Ceremony to be held on Dec. 14 at 6 p.m. at the Imlay Community Center.
