Alumni banquet and ball

96th Annual Pershing County High School Alumni Banquet & Ball honoring PCHS 2013 graduates.

Held Saturday June 8 at the Pershing County Community Center, cocktails at 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. Dinner is $25 per person. Dance following banquet is $5 if you were not at the banquet. Music provided by DJ Jerry Reid. For more information visit www.pchsaa.com.

Imlay Baptist Youth Group is having a car wash Sunday June 9 starting at 1 p.m. in the parking lot of the Imlay Baptist Church. Outside only $10 - Inside only $20 - Inside and outside $25.

Senior van to Fallon

The Pershing County Senior Center van will travel to Fallon. The van leaves the center at 7:30 a.m. and arrives in Fallon at 10 a.m.; it leaves by 2 p.m. Please schedule your appointments between those hours. Community soup,

bread and Bingo!

St. John the Baptist Catholic Church is sponsoring a Community soup, bread, and Bingo.  The cost for the evening of fun is $5 for 9 Bingo cards.  We invite everyone in the Community to join us for this enjoyable evening.  The festivities will begin around 6 p.m., following our regular Mass at 5 p.m.

Art Class with Ron Cunningham

4-H Camp

4-H camp is open to all youth between the ages of 9 and 13 4-H age (your age in Jan. 2013).  They spend a week at the 4-H Camp at Lake Tahoe making new friends, enjoying the great outdoors, participating in fun activities and the food is great.  Applications are available at the Pershing County Extension Office, 810 Sixth Street.  The fee is $230 until June 1, ($280 after June 1). Call 273-2923 for more information.

Pershing County Business Resource Center

The Pershing County Business Resource Center is now open. It is located at the Pershing County Community Center, Star Room, 820 6thStreet, Lovelock, NV 89419.  The center has 4 computers for free use by persons ages 17 and older for business, job, and educational purposes.  The Star Room is also used as a classroom, so a calendar of availability can be found at www.pershingcounty.net.  Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday - Friday.  Call 273-7144 for more information.

Coaches needed for Youth Football

The Pershing County Library is open Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Wednesday from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.; Thursday from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Story hour Tuesdays with preschoolers (older than 3) from 10 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. The library is located at 1125 Central Ave. For more information call 273-2216.

Food bank

Lovelock Community Food Bank is serving at 655 Cornell starting at 3:30 p.m. and will close at the discretion of the Food Bank. Everyone can receive free bread and dairy products, but a voucher will be needed in order to receive food. This can be obtained at the county clerk's office.

Lovelock Speedway meeting

November - March, ge neral meetings are held every other Thursday at 6 p.m. April - October general meetings held the Thursday prior to each scheduled race. Lovelock Speedway is seeking volunteers for various positions. Free craft classes for kids

Each Friday - Classes formally at Creekside Variety are now being held in the Community Center across from the hospital. Fridays, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Free sewing and craft classes for kids ages 6 and up. Sewing machines and materials are free as are the classes. For information call the Community Center at 273-7144.
