Buy an ad on the Lovelock Community Calendar

The Lovelock Frontier Days Committee has taken over the local community calendar with donations raised going to student scholarships. Ads will be taken during July through Frontier Days. List family members' birthdays, anniversaries and memorial dates.Calendars will be available in early December so you can give them as Christmas presents. Summer Reading Program underway

The Summer Reading Program is a free six week program held on Mondays at the Pershing County Library. Each one hour session will include a craft project, incentives and a snack. The theme this year is Dig into Reading. The Summer Reading Program is designed for independent readers ages 7 and older to encourage leisure reading during the summer months. One Woman Art Show

Come experience the painting and sculptures of Oreana artist Carolyn Baker. Her works will be on display at the Star Peak Art Retreat in Imlay from July 5-28, closed on Mondays, There will be an opening party on July 14 from 2 - 6 p.m. Star Peak Art Retreat is located on the east side of I-80 at the highway off-ramps.

Beverage Server Training

A free Responsible Beverage Server Training class will be held at the FCC office at 1475 Cornell Ave., Ste. 500 from 10 a.m. - noon. Normally this class is offered on the fourth Wednesday of each month or scheduled to accommodate our local businesses. The training is free for sellers and/or servers of alcoholic beverages and is funded in part by the state Substance Abuse and Prevention Treatment Agency (SAPTA) and Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws (EUDL).
