Night Fun Shoot

The Flying Saucer Trap Club will be hosting a series of "Summer Night League Shoots" at the trapshooting range located at 1550 Airport Rd. Lovelock. Registration and practice begins at 5:30 p.m. followed by meat shoots at 6 p.m. and then a "Blind Draw Buddy Shoot" will begin after sunset to wrap up the evening.   Everyone is invited, so come out for some fun competition between friends. Rummage Sale to benefit GV VFD

8 a.m. - 3 p.m. - The Grass Valley Community Center will hold a rummage sale to benefit the GV Volunteer Fire Department. Have something to donate? Drop off days are Aug. 17, 19, 20 and 22 from 2 - 4 p.m. Individual spaces available for private sales at $10 each. Frontier Community Coalition Beverage Server Training

10 a.m - noon - A free Responsible Beverage Server Training class will be held at the FCC office at 1475 Cornell Ave. The training is free for sellers and/or servers of alcoholic beverages and is funded in part by the state Substance Abuse and Prevention Treatment Agency (SAPTA) and Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws (EUDL). Frontier Community Coalition Free Video Presentation

Noon - 1:30 p.m. - A free prevention-based video presentation will be held at the FCC office at 1475 Cornell Ave. The presentation is free to the community - but seating is limited. Pershing County Business Resource Center

The Pershing County Business Resource Center is now open. It is located at the Pershing County Community Center, Star Room, 820 6thStreet, Lovelock, NV 89419.  The center has 4 computers for free use by persons ages 17 and older for business, job, and educational purposes.  The Star Room is also used as a classroom, so a calendar of availability can be found at www.pershingcounty.net.  Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday - Friday.  Call 273-7144 for more information.

Group seeks 2nd Infantry members

Church of the Good Shepherd Food Bank

The Church of the Good Shepherd Food Bank currently has donated food available for those in need. Pastor D.W. Hutson asks that you call ahead to pick up the items from the church, located at 16500 state Route 400 in Unionville. The church accepts food and clothing donations to give away to those in need. Each Friday - Classes formally at Creekside Variety are now being held in the Community Center across from the hospital.
