Children of Lovelock celebrate the Fourth of July

The following children participated in the 2014 Annual Fourth of July Kiddie Parade sponsored by the Pershing County Cattlewomen. The streets were filled with children representing different aspects of American Agriculture and/or Rural America.

Lovelock resident and future fifth-generation farmer Johnny Wright, 7, shows off his foot-powered toy John Deere tractor during the annual 4th of July Kids’ Parade in downtown Lovelock on Friday.
The parade was led with a Color Guard by the following members of Boy Scout Troop 890: Scott and Ben Plimpton.
Children participating were as follows: Future FFA Member and Farmer-Cassidy Burke and Jacob Burke; Farmer Kelsey-Kelsey Collins; Pig Farmers-Presley Burrows and Josie Crim; Farmer-Blake Burrows; Cowgirl-Raegan Burrows.

Each participant was introduced at the Stop Light by June Talcott. Thank you to Dave and June Talcott for providing the Sound Equipment. Nevada State Bank donated the 50 cent pieces given to each child. Popsicles were provided by the Cattlewomen. American Legion Post 6 had Hot Dogs, Chips, Water, and Cookies to the children that participated in the Parade. Thank you to Nevada State Bank and to the American Legion.
The Pershing County Cattlewomen would like to thank the children that participated in the 2014 Kiddie Parade and especially the parents that helped by having their children celebrate the Fourth of July in Lovelock by representing American Agriculture in Rural America.
