Elwyn Robert (Butch) Morris
Elwyn Robert (Butch) Morris entered into his Heavenly Fathers arms  on September 20, 2019.

He was born August 6, 1945 in Mankato, Minnesota to Thomas T. Morris and Mae Adelaide Othoudt. Butch was the 2nd of 3 children with an older sister, Margaret and a younger sister Sharon. He attended grade school in Vernon Center, MN and graduated from Garden city High School in Garden City, MN.

In June of 1964, Butch joined the United States Marines and served 4 years in San Diego, California at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot as a Butcher/Meatcutter. 

It was in San Diego that he met the love of his life, Margaret and they were married May 19, 1967 in Spring Valley, CA. Butch Received an honorable discharge in July of 1968 and he and Margaret moved back to Vernon Center, Mn with their infant daughter, Jeannie. In April 1970 they moved back to San diego, CA with their newest addition, Tamara. From there they moved to Escondido, CA. 

Butch worked as a meatcutter all this time, but in April of 1978 he decided to quit meatcutting and become a truck driver. 

This led to a job with Hillman Caywood Trucking and a move to Winnemucca, NV. Butch worked for Hillman until he retired in 1980. From there he took a job with Pinson Mining Co. as a heavy equipment mechanic until 1999 when Pinson closed. 

There were a few months as a meatcutter again and then a job as a mechanic with Renner Equipment in Fallon, NV where they lived for 2 years. In 2004 a final move was made back to Winnemucca and a job with Midas Mine as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic. He worked there until his retirement in 2009.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a niece, and a great-grandson.

Butch is survived by his wife of 52 years Margaret, daughters Jeannie Brown (Clifton), of Winnemucca, Tamara Fullerton (Randy) of Grantsville, UT, and Elizabeth Jeppsen (Mickey) of winnemucca, & 8 grandchildren, Sean Brown, Chad Brown (Ashley), Luis Brown (Cherice), Ashley Ballard (Robert) all of Winnemucca, Kortney Della-Rata (Anthony) of Fernley, Nv, Catherine Fullerton, Thomas Fullerton, and Daniel Fullerton of Grantsville, UT. There are 16 great-grandchildren, sister Margaret James (Bill) of Garden City, MN, Sharon Lusky (Larry) of Brentwood, TN and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Butch will be sorely missed by all who knew him. 

Services will be held at the Word of Light Fellowship Church on October 5, 2019 at 3pm with internment to follow at the Winnemucca Cemetery.
