Tami Lucille Muniz
Tami Lucille Muniz
Tami Lucille Muniz, 58, of Winnemucca, NV died October 2, 2019at her home surrounded by her family losing her long time battle with cancer.

Tami was born on August 6, 1961 in Hammond, Indiana to Hassell Vern Knight and Janice Eileen Jones. She married Dionicio Muniz in 1984.

She grew up in Shore Acres, CA; she later moved to Tonapah, NV where she met her future husband in 1981.

They married and moved to Fallon, NV in 1985 where they were blessed with their two daughters. The family finally settled in Winnemucca, NV in 1994 where they lived until her passing.

Tami attended Pacifica High School and Mt Diablo High School. After moving to Tonapah Tami worked as a cocktail waitress at the Station House, a teller at Wells Fargo Bank, a lab tech at ALS Chemex and finally as a Casino Cashier for the Model T in Winnemucca, NV.

Tami enjoyed spending time with her family, her grandchildren most of all. She enjoyed working in her yard, bowling, playing board games, traveling, dancing to Country Music, and kicking back with a big bowl of popcorn to watch a good comedy movie.

Her laugh was contagious and her humor could brighten any room. She lived to care for her family and she was famous for being ornery but anyone who ever met her knows, life will never be the same without her.

Tami is survived by her husband of 35 years Dionicio (Chito) Muniz: her daughters Felicia Rivera and Ashley Muniz: her grandchildren Jazmin O’Neall, Troy Manske, Madan Villalobos, Mariah Villalobos, Kaliyah Venzor, Yanessa Rivera and Amarra Rivera: her brother Ed Knight and sisters Connie Knight and Mitzi Knight.

She was preceded in death by her father Hassell Knight, her mother Janice Jones, her nephew Joseph Nocito and her niece Stephanie Cordray.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the care givers from Guiding Light Hospice Thea, Sadie and Olyna for their wonderful care and compassion given Tami; Danielle from Simply Trendy for the beautiful flower arrangements and Sonoma Funeral Home.

A visitation and service for Tami will be held Wednesday October 9, 2019 at Sonoma Funeral Home from 11:00 to 1:00 with burial at the Winnemucca Cemetery.
