The Lander County Committee Against Domestic Violence will hold its annual 5K Fun Run/Walk in Battle Mountain, beginning in Elquist Park on Saturday, October 12. Registration is at 8:30 a.m. and the walk will begin at 9 a.m.

The walk is approximately three and a half miles.

The CADV encourages business groups and families to join in their annual event. There will be a display in Elquist Park and a discovery walk for kids, said Michele Scovil of the CADV.

“If kids find a painted rock, they can show it to the registration table and receive a $5 gift certificate for McDonald’s restaurant. For $25, a family or group of five will each receive a t-shirt, an insulated goodie bag and breakfast. This is a great way to spread awareness and outreach to our community. It’s not too late for groups to sign up,” said Scovil.

Students are $5, individuals are $10, a family or group is $25, and a business is $25; more than five participants are $8 each.
