On Feb. 10, 2020, the Humboldt County School District Board of Trustees held their regular meeting.  All board trustees were present. The board approved the following agenda item:
• A request from Winnemucca Junior High School students to travel to New York City for a Broadway themed experience. The trip will occur over the 2020 spring break and nine students will be accompanied by nine chaperones.
• A request from Winnemucca Junior High School students to travel to Washington, D.C. and to New York City. The trip will take place during spring break in 2021 plus two days prior. The exact numbers of students will be determined. 
• Approved and adopted the 1000 Series Policies and Regulations associated with Policy Bylaws.
• Approved a request to engage Zander Consulting LLC to provide contract financial consulting support to the district.
• Approved the recommendation to suspend a student with special needs in accordance with NRS 392.467.
The trustees received the following presentations:
• District Superintendent Dr. Dave Jensen updated the board on proposed 2020 summer bond projects.  
• Assistant Superintendent Dawn Hagness updated the board on mid-year bullying reports.
• Superintendent Hagness updated the board on training progress regarding AB168 requirements related to restorative justice practices. 
Superintendent’s Report:
• Announced information related to the upcoming ATC bootcamp which will be held Feb. 18-20. The bootcamp is to help students prepare for taking the ACT tests and is open to both Lowry High School and McDermitt 11 grade students. 
• Reminded board members, parents, teachers and staff the Monday. Feb. 17 is a public holiday and school will not be in session.
