The members of Agape Hospice and Palliative Care gave a 1950s-themed sock hop to thank the members of the Battle Mountain community for their efforts in raising over $5,000 in funds.

Poodle skirts and ‘50s costumes, music of the era, soda fountain decorations, a potato bar and drinks, dancing and a DJ provided a fun evening for staff members and residents celebrating Agape’s opening.

Larsgaard thanked the past and current Lander County Commission for their financial support, and all board members, citizens, local businesses, donors and volunteers for their contributions.

“Agape Hospice and Palliative Care’s mission is to provide end-of-life care for individuals in Lander County regardless of circumstances. It’s the vision of Agape Hospice to be compassionate and flexible while instilling hope. We aim to supply self-directed living through the final stages of life and honor the dignity of all people. This party is a thank you to everyone who helped us on our journey,” said Larsgaard.
