August 2019 consolidated tax (CTX) numbers were down for Lander and Pershing Counties compared to those from 2018. Humboldt County’s CTX numbers increased. Statewide, taxable sales were up 7.6% year-over-year, at $5, 410,952,341.



Humboldt County

Humboldt County taxable sales were up 20.3% from $46,547231 in August 2018 to $55,981,226 this year. The difference between the two years was $9,433,995.

Of 80 listed industry categories, 31 recorded losses in Humboldt County. 

The largest loss was recorded in Pipeline Transportation, which was down to zero from the prior year of $10,561, a difference of $10,561 and a -100% change.

 Other notable losses were in Mining (Expect Oil and Gas), which brought in $1,189,268 sales tax, a decrease of -44.5% over last year; and Construction of Buildings, which was down -97% over last year. 

The largest gain was recorded in Petroleum and Coal Products Manufacturing, which brought in $57,071 in August, a change of 9,459.6%. 

Other notable gains were in Computer and Electronic Product Manufacturing, which brought in $154,504, a gain of 2,110.7% over the previous year. Credit Intermediation and Related Activities was also up 2,009.6% from the previous year at $1,249,515. The difference between the two years was $1,190,285.



Lander County

Lander County taxable sales were down -4.1% from $28,330,414 in August 2018 to $27,180,012 this year. The difference between the two years was $1,150,402.

Of 73 listed industry categories, 29 recorded losses in Lander County. The largest loss was recorded in Construction of Buildings, which brought in $88, compared to August 2018 sales of $12,246, a change of -99.3%. Other notable losses include Utilities, which brought in only $73,643 versus $1,861,907 from last year. This loss stands at -96%.

  The largest gain in the county was in Plastics and Rubber Products Manufacturing, which brought in $674,043, a gain of 1,087,066.1% over the previous year.

Other notable gains include Computer and Electronic Product Manufacturing, which was up from $628 last year to $11,132, a 1,672.6% change.



Pershing County

Pershing County taxable sales were down -10.7% from $14,793,512 in August 2018 to $13,205,181 this year. The difference between the two years was $1,508,331.

Of 72 listed industry categories, 28 recorded losses in Pershing County. 

The largest loss was recorded in Construction of Buildings, which brought in zero taxable sales this year, compared to August 2018 sales of $32,577, down -100%. Other notable losses include Credit Intermediation and Related Activities, which is down -99.9% from the previous year of $5,320,889 to $6,363.

The largest gain was recorded in Plastics and Rubber Products Manufacturing, which brought in $844,166 in August 2019, a 104,118% change. Other notable gains include Transportation Equipment Manufacturing, which is up 13,165.4% from last year at $153 to $20,296 this year, a difference of $20,143.
