The Lowry High School girls golf team claimed the 3A East title with its win in Elko on Monday, April 5.

Lowry shot a season-best 395 in the season finale at Ruby View Golf Course. Elko was second at 404 and Spring Creek (428) was third. 

Churchill County, Fernley and Dayton did not record a team score. 

The Greenwave had just three players and the Vaqueros and Dust Devils did not send their teams to the tournament.

The Lady Bucks won the season-long championship with 21.5 points, winning five of the six tournaments that were played.

Elko was second with 17 points and Spring Creek (15.5) was third.

Lowry had three golfers finish in the top seven in Elko, with Bailey Hayes earning runner-up honors, with a season-best score of 90.

Angelina Martinez was third overall at 92 and Piper Nichols was seventh with a round of 102. 

All three golfers were named to the 3A East all-league, first team.  

Lowry’s Kaitlin Hales finished 12th overall with a score of 111 and she was named to the all-league, second team.

Elko’s Gabby Bement, who was named the league MVP, was the low medalist with a round of 87. Spring Creek’s Jordan Maher was fourth with a round of 98 and teammate Jaedin Martinez (100) was fifth.
